MintMech secures funding from UK Shared Prosperity Fund

Automation, Manufacturing and Engineering Centre (AMEC)

MintMech will convert a new commercial unit into the MintMech Automation, Manufacturing, and Engineering Centre (AMEC), a facility dedicated to supporting the offshore wind industry.

The AMEC facility will undergo major renovations and workshop upgrades. These improvements will enable the design, testing and commissioning of many of our solutions.

AMEC will bring together MintMech’s design skills with in-house manufacturing to improve efficiency and production control. This investment will strengthen Cornwall’s engineering sector, enhance local workforce skills and encourage collaboration across industries.

The AMEC facility will accelerate the delivery of several innovations currently under development. Through AMEC, MintMech aims to grow Cornwall’s share in the global offshore wind industry and create high-quality local jobs in the clean energy sector.

This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Cornwall Council is responsible for managing projects funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund through the Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Good Growth Programme.
