A lot of marine and coastal work needs a stable working platform before anything else can happen, somewhere to stand a crane, run a survey, carry plant or reach a structure from the water. We design modular floating work platforms and pontoons that provide exactly that: built up from buoyancy modules into a deck sized to the task, towable or self-propelled and able to launch and recover on a slipway or beach rather than needing a quay and a crane. It bridges the gap between a small workboat and a large, expensive multicat, reaching the shallow, sheltered and hard-to-access sites the bigger vessels can’t.

What we engineer

  • Modular pontoon platforms – floating decks built from buoyancy modules and configured to the load, footprint and stability the job needs, in aluminium or steel.
  • Coded workboat engineering – structural and stability engineering to bring a floating platform to Workboat Code, so it can work as a recognised vessel.
  • Crane-base & equipment modules – the structure that lets a platform safely carry a marine crane, winch, A-frame, moonpool or other plant, with the loads designed back into the deck.
  • Jacked / legged platforms – where a job needs a stable, raised platform clear of the water. We engineer the jacking and leg arrangement to lift the deck off the surface. See jacking systems.
  • Fast mobilisation – platforms that fold or break down to tow on the road or pack into a standard container, and self-launch with a small crew – reaching coastal, estuary, reservoir and inland-water sites quickly.
  • Propulsion & positioning – self-propulsion and station-keeping engineered in where the work needs the platform to move and hold position under its own power.

It draws on the same structural, hydraulic and stability engineering we apply offshore, including modular workboat platforms developed for coastal operators, brought to the smaller, nearshore end of the market where a buildable, mobile platform makes a job possible.
