A senior technical role leading project development from concept through to manufacture and site commissioning, delivering high-integrity machinery and structural design across offshore wind, marine construction, offshore geotechnical site investigation and temporary works, extending into mining and heavy industry, on UK and international projects.

You will:

• Lead a project team through the mechanical and structural design of heavy engineering plant and equipment.
• Engage directly with clients to turn requirements into clear technical specifications.
• Produce concepts, 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings and the calculations that validate them, to the relevant international standards.
• Provide technical oversight through fabrication, assembly, testing and commissioning – on site, in the UK and internationally.
• Own project schedule, budget and stakeholder relationships.

We’re looking for: a practical, curious engineer with a career in mechanical, structural (steel) or naval-architecture design; proven experience as a technical lead in a delivery team; strong 2D/3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred); a solid grasp of international structural-steel standards and FEM; and familiarity with machinery/marine certification (CE marking, classification design verification). Desirable: hydraulics and control, CEng (or working toward it) and knowledge of geotechnical, offshore-construction or mining equipment.

A working supervisor and hands-on technical lead running the day-to-day delivery of the MintMech workshop floor, allocating and sequencing work, owning build progress against programme and leading quality and factory acceptance testing. The role carries a hydraulic specialism: as we bring hydraulic build and commissioning in-house, this is the person who holds that competence on the floor.

You will:

• Sequence and supervise work on the floor against project programmes, owning build progress and flagging slippage early.
• Lead quality control, snagging and factory acceptance testing and commissioning.
• Make hoses and hydraulic pipework, and build, install and commission hydraulic systems – with fault-finding through build and FAT.
• Supervise apprentices and contract fitters and feed buildability insight back to the design engineers.
• Hold workshop compliance (PUWER, LOLER), stores, calibration and HSE standards.

We’re looking for: a time-served mechanical fitter with demonstrable hydraulic build and commissioning experience (not maintenance only), hose-making competence, the ability to work from GAs and hydraulic schematics and experience leading a workshop floor. An offshore/subsea background and LOLER competent-/appointed-person status are desirable. Ideal for someone coming ashore from the tools who wants to keep hands on hydraulics and complex build.

A temporary contracting role for a qualified electrician to support the electrical build, wiring and testing of our equipment on the workshop floor, control panels, instrumentation, power and signal, on bespoke offshore and industrial systems.

The work:

• Electrical installation, wiring, termination and testing of control and power systems on MintMech builds.
• Working from electrical drawings and schematics, alongside the build and commissioning team.
• Fault-finding and support through factory acceptance testing.

We’re looking for: a qualified, experienced electrician (relevant electrical qualification + testing competence); panel-wiring and instrumentation experience; able to work from schematics; comfortable in a workshop build environment. Marine/offshore or industrial-controls experience is a plus.

A temporary contracting role for an experienced hydraulics technician to support build, commissioning and field/offshore operation of our hydraulic systems, heave-compensation, winch, jacking, deployment and drilling equipment.

The work:

• Build, install, commission and fault-find hydraulic systems on MintMech equipment, in the workshop and offshore/in the field.
• Hose making and hydraulic pipework; working from hydraulic schematics (P&IDs).
• Support factory acceptance testing and offshore mobilisation/commissioning.

We’re looking for: demonstrable offshore/field hydraulic build and commissioning experience; hose-making and fault-finding competence; the ability to work from schematics; offshore certification (e.g. survival/medical) an advantage, and a willingness to travel and work at sea.
