Subsea piling templates & levelling

Putting piles in the right place, to the right line, accurately and repeatably, on an uneven seabed.

A piling template fixes the position, spacing and inclination of piles relative to each other and to the structure they will carry. For multi-leg foundations, jackets, anchors, pinned structures, the template is what turns a set of individual piles into a foundation that fits the topside or the jacket. We design templates and the levelling systems that go with them to hold position and verticality (or rake) on a seabed that is rarely flat, so positional and angular tolerances are achieved by design rather than chased in the water.

What problem it solves

Out-of-position or out-of-tolerance piles are expensive to correct and can compromise the foundation. A template references every pile to a common datum, controls pile-to-pile spacing and inclination and accommodates seabed slope and unevenness through levelling, giving a repeatable, inspectable result and reducing the time the spread is exposed.

Typical configuration & boundaries

  • Pile guidance & spacing – engineered to the pile diameters, layout and the loads of the installation method.
  • Levelling – to set and hold the template on a sloping or uneven seabed within the required tolerance.
  • Vertical or raked – configured to the foundation geometry, including raked legs.
  • Class & assurance – certification to DNV, Lloyd’s Register, Bureau Veritas and ABS where required, with documentation suitable for project assurance.

Configured per project, foundation layout, pile size, seabed conditions and installation method define the design.
