Mining & critical minerals

Bespoke lifting and handling for shaft and underground operations, engineered and built locally.

The critical-minerals revival – Cornish tin and lithium, Devon tungsten, Irish base metals, is bringing historic mines back into production. We support it with bespoke mechanical, lifting and handling engineering: not process or slurry skids, but the moving structures and systems that raise and lower people and material safely in a shaft or decline.

What we engineer

  • Headgear & sheaves – articulated mine headgear, sheave-wheel design and replacement and the structural analysis behind them.
  • Conveyance systems – shaft conveyance analysis and design, skips and cages, including new design-and-build man-riding cages with full traceability and change control.
  • Shaft & decline works – shaft reactivation, collar and platform works, welfare and maintenance skids for declines and shaft-lowering tooling.
  • Lifting & verification – lifting frames and the independent structural verification that man-riding and heavy-lift duties require under LOLER.

Why local matters

Designing and building from our facility in Penryn, within a short drive of the Cornish mining cluster adds real value to our offer. We can engage directly and in person, respond quickly and bring the integration value of design and build under one roof to a sector where schedule and accountability are everything.
