Pile stabbing guides
Detachable seabed templates and guides that locate and stab a pile, anchor or string into a drilled socket, accurately and without damaging the hole.

Stabbing a pile or anchor into a pre-drilled socket on the seabed is an accuracy problem: the string has to be aligned and landed into the hole from a moving vessel, without damaging the bore. We design the detachable seabed templates and guide frames that solve it, deployed and recovered by the seabed frame, left on the bottom to align the installation string with the borehole.
What we design
- Detachable guide template – a lower template that detaches from the seabed frame and stays on the bottom to guide the pile, anchor or string into the hole, protecting the bore during stabbing.
- Alignment and orientation – slots and features that align the string to the hole and set the required orientation.
- Release and recovery – templates that can open to release an installed tether or pile, then be re-located and lifted back to deck by the seabed frame (with ROV assistance where needed).
- Integration with the drilled socket – designed alongside the casing, hole-opener and grouting arrangement so stabbing follows cleanly from drilling.
Socket sizes, loads and depths are project-specific and confirmed at enquiry. Related to our subsea piling templates and template levelling work.
