Marine engineering
Shipbuilding, repair, refit and modification, the mechanical, hydraulic and structural engineering behind a working vessel.

Vessels are built, repaired and re-purposed throughout their lives and each of those phases needs engineering that sits between the naval architecture and the systems on board. We support shipyards, owners and operators with the mechanical, structural, hydraulic and control engineering that goes into building a vessel, keeping it in service and modifying it for a new role, from new-build fit-out to refit, conversion and upgrade.
How we help
- New-build & fit-out – designing and integrating deck machinery, handling systems, hydraulics and structures into a vessel under construction, including value-engineering during the build.
- Repair, refit & modification – assessing existing plant and structure and engineering the upgrades, conversions and modifications that extend a vessel’s life or change its role.
- Vessel upgrades – structural modifications, payload and operational-capability reviews and the integration of new systems into an existing hull, with class and survey support.
- Single-party accountability – we design in-house, manage fabrication through our supplier network and assemble, integrate and commission at our facility in Penryn.
