Capability

Marine civils & temporary works

The engineered structures that make a marine job buildable, designed, checked and certified to take real loads in real conditions.

A large part of what we do supports construction on and around the water: the temporary structures, access and load-bearing arrangements that let a contractor build a jetty, a dock, a bridge pier or a piling operation safely. across waterfront, coastal and inland sites, it draws on exactly the offshore-grade structural and hydraulic engineering we apply everywhere else.

What we engineer

  • Temporary works design – load-bearing structures, supports and bracing for jetties, piers, docks, bridges and piling operations, designed and verified to the relevant codes.
  • Pile gates & piling support – gate structures and guides that locate and restrain piles during installation. See pile gates.
  • Access & load-handling structures – gantries, platforms, lifting frames, grillages and crane bases that put load into a structure safely.
  • Waterfront & civils infrastructure – engineering for jetties, docks, slipways, boat lifts, marine railways and similar fixed marine assets.
  • Independent design checking – verification and design qualification of temporary works and lifting structures, prepared to satisfy a checker, client or class. See design verification.

We design it, manage any fabrication through our supplier network and prepare the calculations and documentation a marine job’s checking regime demands, one team accountable from concept to sign-off.
