Defence & dual-use

Where our cross-sector engineering transfers

Much of what defence and dual-use programmes need, we already build for offshore, marine and mining clients: rugged, safety-critical handling and deployment systems, hydraulics, control and automation and structures engineered to do difficult things reliably the first time. Launch and recovery systems, A-frames, handling arms, winches and deck equipment all transfer directly from our offshore work to defence and dual-use applications.

Our approach

  • Cross-sector capability transfer – the mechanical, structural, hydraulic and heave motion control engineering behind our offshore and marine systems applies directly to defence and dual-use requirements.
  • “Right first time” ethos – equipment that must work reliably in demanding, unforgiving environments, designed and proven with that discipline.
  • A stated intention – defence is a sector we are deliberately building towards, drawing on this cross-sector heritage, as the right opportunities and partnerships develop.

If you’re working on a defence or dual-use programme where this engineering transfers, we’d welcome the conversation.
